This group
have recently been researching Pocklington during the war years.
This work has culminated in the production of a book entitled: "Pocklington
At War", which has recently been published. It tells how
the Second World War and the arrival of a Bomber Command airfield
affected the people of this small market town.
The
leaders of the group Jim and Margaret Ainscough, backed up the
research carried out by the group with further research from
original documentation. The book is available from Simply
Books in Pocklington at a cost of £5.00, proceeds will go to RAF
charities.
