| 19th Century Industrial
History
The Industrial
Revolution that took place during the second half of the 18th Century
transformed Britain's predominantly agricultural economy into the
world's first industrial nation. The group studies the development of
British industrial history throughout the 19th Century; the achievements
of the pioneers and their effect on both Britain and the world.
Meeting Place
The group currently meets at Pocklington Methodist Church in Chapmangate, usually on the third
Tuesday of each month at 10.00 am. We periodically make visits to sites
of industrial interest.
