Music Appreciation

The Group meets on the third Thursday afternoon of the month, and because of enhanced numbers has met every month and had a really worthwhile time. While in the past members brought records and shared their tastes in music, this has developed into concentrating on a composer through members of the Group researching and presenting a subject for the afternoon. This has resulted in the broadening of our knowledge and appreciation, and has usually been accompanied by much discussion and mirth. This autumn at least two afternoons will be given over to members' presentations. On the occasions we have had a guest, this has been much appreciated. If there is a music lover in our Branch with a special interest in a particular style of music or knowledge of a composer, artist or instrument, and feels he or she can give a one-off presentation, please contact Malcolm Smalley.
