Natural History

During the summer months we have looked at flora and fauna at local nature reserves with our leader Roy Crossley. We shall continue with the local theme for our indoor meetings starting in September when we will be considering topics including insects, birds and mammals. Roy has kindly agreed to continue leading our group next year.

Our indoor meetings are in the Millington room at Pocklington Methodist Church on the first Tuesday of the month at 13.45.

A look at British birds and mammals past and present, their relationship with man and their future prospects in a changing planets. The origins of farming. Looking back some 10,000 years to the time when the human race took the revolutionary step from hunter gathering to farming. Domesticating wild animals and plants and enabling our present lifestyle to evolve.  Contact: Anne Challoner.
