Square Dancing

Square dancing is GREAT FUN and also skilful and requires application...the biggest danger we incur is laughing too much when we go wrong!  Learning sessions are held at the Scout Hall in Burnby Lane, Pocklington and run weekly on Friday afternoons from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

New members are always welcome and in you don’t need to bring a partner. Singles are very welcome.  We have a most experienced caller / teacher and you couldn't get better!  The cost of sessions is kept as low as possible £2 - £3 or even free.  You always get a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits.   Square dancing is loads of fun and does tax the old grey matter a bit as you do have to remember the moves!

You don’t have to be ambitious and you can just come to have fun and keep fit but if you like and by the time you have done a year you could be 'Graduated'.   This means you have enough knowledge to go to any Square Dance club and enjoy basic level dancing anywhere in the world.

Square dancing is an international activity and always called in English so you can have a go in most places in the world once you have learned the basics.
