Mahjong 2 has been in existence now for a year and is smaller group than Mahjong 1. We would be pleased to introduce new members to this ancient Chinese game played in groups of four with tiles engraved with Chinese themed symbols of dragons, winds, seasons, and flowers collected to make winning hands with poetic names.
This group plays purely for fun and amusement with no pressure of ability at the Plough Public House in Hayton in a quiet bar between 1.00pm – 4.00pm. We meet alternate Fridays to Mahjong 1, twice, every four weeks. Play begins at 1.30pm after each member has paid £3 for a drink of their choice in a lovely venue for an afternoon of entertainment. Any change paid for the drink accumulates in the ‘kitty’ towards our Christmas lunch which will be held during Chinese New Year 2021 already reserved with Mrs. Chu in her Chinese Restaurant in the Plough, on 12th February 2021.
Our venue, the Plough, is on the A1079 with a large car park and there is a bus stop directly opposite.
