Our u3a was established in 2005 - it's something of a unique organisation providing great opportunities for our generation to take part in social, educational and recreational activities amongst long standing and new friends. Essentially we are a group of retired people with wide range of interests enjoying the fun and friendships that u3a has to offer... and these opportunities are realised in a free and easy self-help structure.

Our membership is growing and the number of groups we have is increasing and therefore we are calling out to you to support the u3a as best you can:

  • Share your ideas to develop the u3a with us – we have a Suggestion Box scheme running at Drop-in meetings and would love to hear your ideas.
  • Support one another – we’re looking for more members to step forward and volunteer as Group Leaders so that we can increase the number of groups and variety of subject matter that we offer.
    • Anyone who is interested in starting a group should contact the Vice-Chair or any member of the Committee Click Here for "Committee" page
  • Learn from one another – share your experience or passion for learning by starting a new group.  Don’t forget that we’re a ‘self-help’ group who are responsible for our own learning.

We each make Pocklington & District U3A what it is - this is YOUR u3a
Embrace Fun & Friendship though learning with u3a
