Astronomy

The group’s aims and objectives are to learn more about the Universe that we live in.  Enjoy friendly discussion about the sky we can see and much more that we cannot see.  Find your way around the night sky and have the opportunity to view the moon, planets, stars, and nebulae with the help of others and their equipment.  Group members give short talks on previously agreed subjects at monthly meetings and share their knowledge and experiences of a wide range of astronomical and related subjects.  Guest speakers are invited from time to time.  Lively and entertaining discussions take place.  Visits to observatories are also arranged.  Give the Astronomy Group a try.  You will have fun, meet nice people and expand your mind. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at the Scout Hut, Burnby Lane, Pocklington.
